Curriculum showcase - Autumn 2

We started the half-term by using our senses to describe Bonfire Night and the fireworks we had seen. Then we used paint balls to roll and create different coloured rockets. We read 'The Way Back Home' by Oliver Jeffers, and wrote about a journey to the moon. Then we created our own rockets, using different joining materials. Next we read ' How To Catch A Star', also written by Oliver Jeffers and labelled an illustration from the book. This story inspired us to create a 'Starry Night', using lots of paint, inspired by Van Gogh. 

Curriculum Showcase - Autumn 1

After reading the beautiful story of ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell, the children created different pieces of artwork and learnt some new vocabulary. 

Using a range of materials and resources, we made owls following step by step instructions. We also explored printing with leaves that we gathered from our playground and discussed the different colours and textures.
