Sharing our Autumn Learning

Today Year 6 shared their writing with some visitors. Mrs Topham and Mrs Kershaw experienced what war was like during World War 2 and came to listen to the diaries the children have written based on our English text 'War Game'. The children were eager to share their work and were equally enthusiastic to ask questions and handle some war memorabilia. Kiiya said, 'It's crazy to think I held a medal from 1914!' Both ladies were impressed with the quality of work, our lovely school environment and the politeness of our children.

Our Residential at High Adventure

What an amazing three days we've had, some of us were away from home for the very first time and all of us have tried new things!

We harnessed up, got our helmets on and found our inner Spiderman for climbing. We used our listening skills to be able to safely load the bow and arrow to hit the targets in archery 🏹. We worked together to learn to use the stompers - moving the planks was so difficult but we found that communication was key and one person counting was the way to get moving! Using our design skills we were able to safely drop Eggbert from the top of the Eiffel Tower without breaking him. In bouldering, we traversed around the room, climbed up walls and dangled from the ceiling! Our team work was tested again with the marble run and believe it or not, a trip to the moon! We used our mapwork skills we navigate the site to find all of the letters to succeed at orienteering 🗺.

Year 6 you were a credit to Farfield and showed the instructors that Farfield Children Can try new things!
