Our Residential at Nell Bank

What an experience Nell Bank was for the Year 4 children! They all had a brilliant time throughout our three day trip. The children took part in many activities which were fun and engaging, allowing the them to build their communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. The children and staff also enjoyed a challenging walk across Ilkley Moor, and as a reward for their amazing efforts, everyone stopped off for ice cream! On our final day we had an Egg-celent egg hunt which everyone really enjoyed.

Throughout the trip, the children were ready, respectful and safe. Members of the public even commented on how impressive their behaviour was. This residential is something the children will remember for years to come. A special thank you to some of our Year 6 children who joined us at Nell Bank and demonstrated their excellent leadership skills.

Our trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park

On Thursday 20th November, Year 4 enjoyed an exciting visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park! Despite arriving to falling snow, spirits were high and the weather soon cleared to make way for a fantastic day out. The children explored the park and saw a wonderful variety of animals, before taking part in an engaging polar bear workshop called 'Bear Necessities'. After lunch, there was even time for a bit of shopping in the Safari Store! It was a memorable day filled with learning, adventure and new experiences.

Our Learning Showcase

Year 4 took part in a special curriculum showcase at the end of the first half of the Autumn term. Each class shared their poetry and favourite pieces of curriculum work from their first eight weeks of learning — but with a twist! Instead of presenting to their own teacher, the pupils shared their work with the other Year 4 teacher. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to celebrate their learning, show pride in their achievements, and gain feedback from a fresh perspective. Well done, Year 4!
