Our trip to Heard Farm

Year 3 went on an exciting trip to Herd Farm in Leeds. We used knowledge from our fieldwork lesson to predict the physical and human features we thought we would see on our journey. When we arrived, we took part in lots of activities to support our understanding of Iron Age life in Britain. We went in a reconstructed roundhouse and had a go at traditional building using willow weaving. We then learnt about Iron Age weaponry and had a go at some warrior training. Finally, we gathered round the fire to see some Bronze and Iron Age artefacts before watching traditional fire lighting and flour making.
