Community Links

At Farfield Primary and Nursery School, we value the importance of developing strong links between the school and the local community. Through visits, assemblies, concerts and special events, we involve our pupils in the local community, so they learn how to participate in a practical way in the life and concerns of their neighbourhood and communities.

Working with parents, local residents, the business community, public services, and voluntary services teaches children to become active citizens.

We feel it is important that Farfield Primary and Nursery School, it's children, staff and governors are recognised as part of the local community.

School Council Parking Tickets 13/01/2020-17/01/2020

During January 2020 The School Council  monitored parking outside school.  The local council wardens joined us and we gave “parking tickets” to vehicles parked on yellow lines and on the zig-zags. Over the days we ticketed:

Monday –  11 cars including 3 taxis

Tuesday – 6 cars including 2 taxis

Wednesday – 5 cars and 2 taxis

The police came on Thursday and Friday to check the parking outside the school entrances and may well return in the coming weeks. Thank you to School Council for doing a good job and keeping everybody safe while coming in and out of school.

PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK OUR ENTRANCES - IT MAY BE YOUR CHILD NEEDING AN AMBULANCE OR RETURNING FROM A SCHOOL TRIP!

Christmas Wreath Competition - Dec 2019

Well done to all the children for making some wonderful Christmas wreaths prior to the Christmas holiday as part of the Christmas competition. Using eco-friendly materials the children managed to showcase their design and technology skills to create some eye-catching designs. The judges had a difficult task picking a winner but after much deliberation the winners were 6G.  The wreaths were donated to the local respite centre to share some Farfield festive magic.
