Reading Ambassadors – 🌟📖Welcome to This Year’s Team!📖🌟
Tue 25 Nov 2025We are delighted to introduce our new team of Reading Ambassadors. Each pupil submitted an impressive application, demonstrating not only a genuine love of reading but also thoughtful ideas about how they can enhance the reading experience for their peers at Farfield.
This enthusiastic and respectful group of pupils are a real credit to our school. Among their many responsibilities, they will help maintain their class libraries and ensure our wonderful library bus remains a welcoming and well-organised space.
As representatives for their classmates, our Reading Ambassadors will play an important role in sharing pupil voice. They will help us understand what children enjoy reading and how we can continue to develop and improve our reading offer at Farfield.
We look forward to working with them and seeing the positive impact they will make across our school community.

BRIGHT Assembly - Independence
Tue 18 Nov 2025This week in our BRIGHT assembly we read 'Simon Sock'. Although we know that being a team player is a character strength to be celebrated, we learnt through this story that independence is also a great character strength to have. Simon Sock learns that it's great to be yourself and be independent, rather thank having to always be teamed up with a matching partner and we talked about what we could do to show independence also.

Whole School Assembly - 'Pudsey and the Thread of Hope'
Mon 17 Nov 2025Today we shared the story of 'Pudsey and the Thread of Hope' by Tom Fletcher.
Inspired by Pudsey’s 40-year legacy of hope and resilience, Pudsey and the Thread of Hope was created to celebrate the vital work of BBC Children in Need.
The story follows Jai, a young boy navigating grief, who discovers healing and courage through a magical journey with Pudsey. Along the way, they meet other children connected by a golden thread of kindness and empowerment, highlighting the importance of trusted, positive relationships in helping young people overcome adversity. The book aims to raise awareness and funds to ensure that children across the UK have access to the support, connection and care they need.
Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and merchandise and wore their own clothes in aid of Children In Need, we are very proud that the money raised will go to those who need it most.

Tue 11 Nov 2025To mark Remembrance Day, the whole school came together to participate in a 2 minute silence. We heard from different people who shared how and where they remember the sacrifices made by people who fought to preserve our freedoms. Miss Whaites played for us to mark the start and end of our silence.
We would also like to thank Liara and Phoebe who have been selling poppies over the last week, from which all donations go to the Royal British Legion.

Whole School Assembly - Anti-Bullying Week starts with🧦Odd Socks Day🧦
Mon 10 Nov 2025Today launched this year's Anti-Bullying week.
All of the children have found out about why we are wearing odd socks today. They have watched this year's video about empowerment. That it is important to speak up about in-person and online bullying and that their power can be used for good to end bullying.
The video can be found by following this link:

The children in KS2 have looked at the topic of bullying in a bit more detail. They have discussed the different roles involved in a situation and how they can speak up to stop this. Below is the link to the video they have watched which may help you discuss this topic at home.

BRIGHT Assembly - Belief
Wed 05 Nov 2025In the week's BRIGHT we read 'The Cave' by Rob Hodgson. We talked about the times we need to believe in ourselves (just like the 'cave creatures' in the story) so we can be brave and do things out of our own comfort zone. When we do this, exciting things can happen!
