  • Whole School Assembly - Chinese New Year

    This morning Mrs Atkinson talked to the children about Chinese New Year, which will be celebrated this Wednesday. On Tuesday, those who are celebrating Chinese New Year will enjoy a New Year’s Eve feast! On the day itself, people wear brand new outfits and receive gifts in red envelopes. Did you know it isn’t just for one day? The Chinese New Year is celebrated for several days with lots of special things happening - on day 15 lots of colourful lanterns are hung up with riddles inside them. If you solve the riddle you may receive a prize from the owner.
    Mrs Atkinson also shared a story that introduced and explained the different animals from the zodiac wheel which the Chinese name their years after.

  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN have 100% attendance!

    Wow - what an amazing (although a little delayed) start to 2025! Congratulations to James and Sienna who have both started the year off with 100% attendance and each won a £50 shopping trip to a toy superstore! There were over 250 children's names in the draw this time, all with over 96% attendance. Let's see if we can beat that in 3 weeks time!

  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN Learn Through 📚The Story Project📚

    Mrs Nichols launched ‘The Story Project’ in our whole school assembly this morning. We talked about our favourite stories and Mrs Nichols shared 'The Giant Jam Sandwich' by John Vernon Lord with us. The children will be taught the PSHE curriculum through 'The Story Project'. Each class will get six new books to read. In each lesson there will be a chance to find out about the characters and discuss their thoughts and feelings. We're really looking forward to beginning this new way of learning!

  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN set the agenda for Internet Safety Day

    Today our STEM Leaders met with Mrs Duthie to talk about their access to devices, online activity and any worries or concerns they had. In preparation for Internet Safety Day in February, the children agreed what our priorities should be. They have decided that our classes need to discuss healthy screen time and how to spot scams. Some of them have experienced hacking too. We want the whole school to be and feel safe online and how to make sure they are.

  • Whole School Assembly - Guru Gobind Singh

    Today we had a special visitor leading our assembly. Narinder Singh came to teach us about the origins of the Sikh religion. He asked us how we would know he was a Sikh - Noah said that ne of the ways he knew straight away was because of his long beard. The children learned about Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last human Sikh Guru. He became the leader of the Sikhs at only nine years old! The children found out about his importance to Sikhs all over the world.
