  • BRIGHT Assembly - Resilience

    Wed 25 Feb 2026

In our BRIGHT assembly this week our theme was Resilience. We read the story 'In Our Hands' by Lucy Farfort. The story tells of a group of children who face challenges but never give up hope and instead they work together to make a difference. We discussed the meaning of resilience - to keep going when things feel difficult and to try again when setbacks occur. We each thought of something that feels tricky but committed to being more resilient when we face it.

  • 🏊‍♂️💦🏊‍♀️Six weeks of Swimming!🏊‍♀️💦🏊‍♂️

    Fri 13 Feb 2026

It was quite the quite the surprise to many that a pool appeared on the playground over the Christmas Holidays.

For the past six weeks over 100 children from Year 4 and Year 5 have been swimming in our pop-up pool every single day! They have all been done wonderfully well and we are very proud of the new skills they have developed.   But sadly it's time to say goodbye to the pool and by the time we return after half term it will have disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.

  • Whole School Assembly - 🧠👍Children's Mental Health Week 2026👍🧠

    Mon 09 Feb 2026

This morning Mrs Bentley shared Place2Be's theme for Children's Mental Health Week, 'This is My Place'. We talked about what belonging is and what we do at Farfield to make sure everyone feels like they belong to our Farfield Family. The children were able to say how they belong, what helps them explain how they are feeling and who they can talk to at school if they have a problem. We all made a plan to be kind this week. Albie in Y1 said he would ask people to play with him and Ernie-Joe in Y6 said he would hold open doors for others and thank people for their help. We are looking forward to a positive week ahead at Farfield!
