Be The Change - FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN write poems inspired by our whole school book
Fri 10 May 2024Our whole school summer book has been "Be The Change", an anthology of inspiring poems aimed at nurturing our next generation's passion for looking after our planet. Poets Matt Goodfellow, Liz Brownlee and Roger Stevens inspired Farfield children to believe that they 'can' effect positive change. The buzz around school has been amazing, as children have penned remarkable original poems, earning numerous Golden Tickets for their creativity. Poetic expression has become a communal experience, with students eagerly sharing their verses aloud and discussing their favourite poems and poets in book chat.
Our fantastic creativity has been displayed for all to see, including QR codes of pupils performing their own work.

FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN meet a real life author!
Mon 29 Apr 2024Today we had a very special assembly with author Deane Narayan-Lee. He is the author of 'The Loving Earth' and he shared his fantastic picture book with us. It is a story about climate change and humans’ effect on the Earth. This is also the theme of our whole school poetry book 'Be The Change' so the children were very interested and knowledgeable about the topic. We know it is important to Farfield Children to take responsibility for their environment and think about how they can make our planet a safer, greener, cleaner place to live.

Whole School Assembly - Skills
Mon 22 Apr 2024This morning's assembly was about 'Skills'. Adam spoke to us about how we all have different skills and how we use our skills everyday. Learning new skills can be difficult but we talked about how important it is to never give up, even when things become difficult or we may fail. We have set ourselves goals in our myHappymind sessions and lots of these are to learn new skills!

Wed 10 Apr 2024Last half term all of the children in school completed the 'Relate' module of myHappymind. The focus of this module is on understanding why positive relationships matter and how to build them. Once complete, a group of children looked at all of the displays and made a list of the things they thought were really helpful. This list has been fed back to their teachers so they can use it to make changes to improve the displays to support the children understanding od their mental health even more!
