  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN keep safe crossing the road!

    Tue 03 Dec 2024

Today we had a visit from the Bradford Road Safety Team. Years 1 and 2 learned about keeping safe by holding hands, finding a safe place to cross then stopping, looking and listening before crossing the road with our grown ups. Year 3 went out and practised crossing the road outside of school safely. Year 4 and 5 took part in a head to head quiz about road safety and watched examples of safe crossing. Year 6 learned about Charlie and the different choices he could have made to keep himself safe crossing the road. All of the children were reminded of the Green Cross Code - when you're next crossing the road with your child, ask them to explain this to you.

Thank you to the Bradford Road Safety Team for helping us to keep our children safe when crossing the road!

  • Whole School Assembly

    Mon 02 Dec 2024

This week Mrs Bentley’s assembly was all about what we can do to be inclusive. We looked at a story in the news this week from the Football Association which shared how they are inclusive and that everyone is there for the same reasons - to play the same game and enjoy the same passion. We watched a video that showed that EVERYONE can join in with football through the Comets Disability Football Programme. The Programme is supported by the Football Without Limits campaign which ensures that the 28,300 people who are registered as disabled now have access to football at a club within our country.
We also talked about which British Values this week’s news story highlighted and we decided it was Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect. Skylaa in Year 1 reminded us that this story also showed 'love and kindness' from our myHappymind learning.
