  • BRIGHT Assembly - Tolerance

    Tue 03 Feb 2026

In our BRIGHT assembly this week our theme was Tolerance. We read the story, 'On Sudden Hill'. This is all about two best friends and how one boy struggles when their friendship of two becomes a friendship of 3. We talked about how we have to be tolerant of new things and give things a chance to work.

  • Whole School Assembly - ☺️Find Your Happy☺️

    Mon 02 Feb 2026

In this morning's assembly, Mrs Atkinson shared the story 'Find Your Happy' by Emily Coxhead. We looked at what the character does to feel happy when he is experiencing different emotions. The children reflected on how this links to Zones of Regulation and the things that we can do to try and get to, or stay in the green zone.

  • Spring Starter - 🥜🧀'Barnaby Unboxed'🧀🥜

    Fri 30 Jan 2026

This term, our whole-school book was Barnaby Unboxed by The Fan Brothers - a magical, moving and visually rich picture book about friendship, resilience and finding your place in the world. The story perfectly supports our whole-school theme of building a community where everyone belongs and celebrating what makes each of us unique.

Through Barnaby’s journey, our pupils learn an important message: being perfect isn’t what makes you special - being yourself is. From Nursery through to Year 6, every year group enjoyed reading the book and exploring Barnaby’s story together.

The text inspired a whole-school writing unit, with all pupils completing work linked to the book. In Key Stage 2, children focused on persuasive writing and each year group produced some excellent pieces of writing.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils - Farfield Children Can be writers!

  • BRIGHT Assembly - Hopes

    Tue 27 Jan 2026

This week's BRIGHT assembly focused on High Hopes. We shared the story “Bears Don’t Read” and talked about how George the bear believes in himself and keeps going, even when others doubt him. The story shows us how having high hopes and determination can help us achieve our goals. Talk to your child at home about something they hope to achieve and how they can keep going, even when things feel challenging.

  • 🌟📆Attendance Prize📆🌟

    Fri 23 Jan 2026

Congratulations to Tommy-Lee and Jaxon! Today they won our Attendance Prize Draw and headed straight to Smyths to choose their prizes. This was our fifth draw of the year and Mrs Benson's first one ever. There were 168 children in with a chance to win - let's make it even more for draw number six!

  • BRIGHT Assembly - Goals

    Tue 20 Jan 2026

In our BRIGHT assembly this week, we followed the story Billy, whose goal is to get to a fancy dress party with her cat. Despite lots of obstacles (including a dragon) she doesn’t give up and keeps going! We reflected on  goads we have achieved and that although we may have come across some bumps along, we have got there in the end! We know we can do it because Farfield Children Can!

  • BRIGHT Assembly - Independence

    Tue 13 Jan 2026

In our BRIGHT assembly this week, we followed the story of a little mouse. The mouse is a character who feels ignored and wishes he could be big and loud like the lion to gain the respect of others. The story shows the mouse’s independence as he sets off on his journey to find his inner confidence, rather than needing to change who he is on the outside. WE discussed the importance of finding your inner voice and realising that everyone, no matter how small, can have a “Lion Inside” them.

  • Whole School Assembly - 🗓Happy New Year🗓

    Mon 12 Jan 2026

This morning Mrs Atkinson spoke to us about New Year. We found out all about where celebrating New Year originated, how it is celebrated in different places and that some people make resolutions. Miss Whaites is going to try and spend less time on her phone and Miss Partington is going to try and prepare more food herself. We also talked about what we were thankful for in 2025 and how this linked to our myHappymind learning on having an 'Attitude for Gratitude'.
