  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN receive correspondence from the Palace 👑

    Tue 18 Mar 2025

In September, the purpose of the writing in Year 6 was to persuade King Charles to do something about deforestation. Our September whole school book, 'There's a Rang-tan In My Bedroom' got the children thinking about what changes need to be made to look after the animals who live in the rainforests and they decided to share their ideas in the letters they wrote.

This week, Year 6 were excited to receive a letter back from Buckingham Palace who had received our letters and were extremely impressed with our thoughtful contributions.

  • Whole School Assembly

    Mon 10 Feb 2025

This morning, Mrs Nichols spoke to us about whether or not we should be allowed to travel anywhere we want. Daniel in Year 1 said that if it was your dream to travel somewhere, then you should be allowed to do this. We talked about what is important when you wish to travel. We all agree that wherever you travel you should do so respectfully which will mean that we can all continue to do so in the future.

  • FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN write to save the planet 🌍

    Fri 07 Feb 2025

This term began with all of the children in school reading 'The Journey Home'. In this story the ice is melting so Polar Bear sets off in search of a new home. His adventures take him across the seas and he discovers many friends along the way. This beautifully illustrated story has a powerful message of conservation and introduces the topic of global warming, building on our learning about deforestation from the autumn term. The children have used this story as the stimulus for the writing of many genres and our English displays showcase these brilliantly.

  • Whole School Assembly - Children's Mental Health Week

    Mon 03 Feb 2025

This morning our assembly was brought to us by our Happiness Heroes! Supported by Michelle from the Education Mental Health Team, we found out all about Children's Mental Health Week and the theme this year of 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. Our Happiness Heroes talked to us about the importance of understanding our emotions. We watched a clip from the movie 'Inside Out' where Riley has a lot of emotions all at once - we all know how tricky this can be to manage. The overall message was that getting to know yourself and each other is a wonderful way to grow, make connections and support others. A huge thanks to our Happiness Heroes - you showed us all that Farfield Children Can share important messages to the whole school!
