  • Whole School Assembly - 'Pudsey and the Thread of Hope'

    Mon 17 Nov 2025

Today we shared the story of 'Pudsey and the Thread of Hope' by Tom Fletcher.

Inspired by Pudsey’s 40-year legacy of hope and resilience, Pudsey and the Thread of Hope was created to celebrate the vital work of BBC Children in Need.

The story follows Jai, a young boy navigating grief, who discovers healing and courage through a magical journey with Pudsey. Along the way, they meet other children connected by a golden thread of kindness and empowerment, highlighting the importance of trusted, positive relationships in helping young people overcome adversity. The book aims to raise awareness and funds to ensure that children across the UK have access to the support, connection and care they need.

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and merchandise and wore their own clothes in aid of Children In Need, we are very proud that the money raised will go to those who need it most.

  • BRIGHT Assembly - Resilience

    Wed 12 Nov 2025

The theme of this week's BRIGHT assembly was Resilience. We shared the story 'After the Fall' and talked about how Humpty Dumpty learns to overcome his fears by keeping on trying even when things feel tough. When we face challenges, sticking with it and showing resilience helps us grow.

  • Whole School Assembly - Remembrance

    Tue 11 Nov 2025

To mark Remembrance Day, the whole school came together to participate in a 2 minute silence. We heard from different people who shared how and where they remember the sacrifices made by people who fought to preserve our freedoms. Miss Whaites played for us to mark the start and end of our silence.

We would also like to thank Liara and Phoebe who have been selling poppies over the last week, from which all donations go to the Royal British Legion.

  • Whole School Assembly - Anti-Bullying Week starts with🧦Odd Socks Day🧦

    Mon 10 Nov 2025

Today launched this year's Anti-Bullying week.

All of the children have found out about why we are wearing odd socks today. They have watched this year's video about empowerment. That it is important to speak up about in-person and online bullying and that their power can be used for good to end bullying.
The video can be found by following this link:

The children in KS2 have looked at the topic of bullying in a bit more detail. They have discussed the different roles involved in a situation and how they can speak up to stop this. Below is the link to the video they have watched which may help you discuss this topic at home.

  • BRIGHT Assembly - Belief

    Wed 05 Nov 2025

In the week's BRIGHT we read 'The Cave' by Rob Hodgson. We talked about the times we need to believe in ourselves (just like the 'cave creatures' in the story) so we can be brave and do things out of our own comfort zone. When we do this, exciting things can happen!

  • 🥫🌽🥔Harvest Donations🥔🌽🥫

    Wed 22 Oct 2025

Today, Alex, Frankie and Matthew, who have achieved their Golden Star, accompanied Mrs Nichols and Mrs Taylor to take our donations to the Pantry Project. A huge thank you to all the donations made by our Farfield Family. Mr Neild, the Church Administrator sent the lovely email of thanks below:

I wanted to take the opportunity once again to thank you and the children of Farfield Primary School for the generosity of your donations to the St. Wilfrid's Church Pantry Project which we received this morning.

Our Church Pantry Project has now been running for well over three years and helps to provide affordable food to those members of the Lidget Green Community who struggle through the cost-of-living crisis. The food you donated will go to them free of charge.

The generosity of your children and their families will be truly appreciated by the surrounding community of BD7 who visit us. Please do share our thanks and wish them all a safe and healthy Harvest period as the nights begin to draw in.
