FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN be published authors!
Fri 20 Oct 2023During July 2023, our now Year 3 children, took part in a nation wide competition. We had been studying animals and their habitats so the opportunity for us to write some poetry AND enter a competition could not be missed.
The children all worked on their own piece of poetry writing and they all typed up their entries for the portal. We were delighted when we had so many children picked to be published. They received their copies of their books this week. They are currently enjoying them in their classes but the book will be available on the library bus soon! 📖

The Girl and The Dinosaur - FARFIELD CHILDREN CAN write amazing things linked to our whole school book!
Fri 29 Sep 2023This September our whole school text was 'The Girl and The Dinosaur' by Holly Hughes. After three Dinosaur Days and a visit from Teach Rex the children of Farfield were truly inspired!
Here is the result - the corridor is awash with bright colours, incredible artwork and an array of writing from across all of the year groups in school. The displays proudly showcase the hard work and enthusiasm the children have shown during their writing about 'The Girl and the Dinosaur'.
Children have enjoyed following Marianne on her magical journey and they have captured the spirit of the story in different types of writing from letters to stories and much more.
Author Mary Pope Osborne said, 'Reading is a passport to countless adventures'. It is evident from the children's writing that they have been on one of those countless adventures with Marianne and Bony. Where will their next adventure take them?
